Rewind the decades, and it is clear that the Shock Family has always had hot sauce in our DNA. Aunt Becky winning that free T-shirt years ago in that hot pepper contest? That wasn't just luck; that was destiny. Our son Preston discovering the full-throttle flavor of Raw Heat as a six-year-old boy? That was a hot pepper premonition. And our daughter Lola mixing sauce on just about every dish she tried? Well, at that point we knew hot sauce was our future.
The Shock Family is chock full of in-house experts on heat, spice, tang and knock-your-socks-off flavor. We've spent countless hours pickling and slicing, arguing and agreeing, fermenting and mixing — all in the name of perfect batches of hot sauce. Our vision was to create a hot sauce that reflected our mountain lifestyle. High up in the Sierra Nevada mountains, this is a place where neighbors are like family. Over shared meals on winter nights or breakfasts before a long day on the slopes, hot sauce warms up a meal and kicks off conversations like no other condiment. We make the sauce here locally in our beautiful town of Truckee, California with all fresh ingredients, there are no purees in our sauce — just fresh whole peppers. Each batch is handmade under the watchful eye and expert touch of one of our family members so you can expect the highest level of quality.
Our goal is to make everyday sauces that you can add to a number of dishes. We believe that the mission was accomplished with our flagship sauces, On the Go Rojo and Everyday Verde. We hope you’ll twist a bottle open and enjoy it on your next adventure.
